Maurice Blackburn AND GILL KANE & BROPHY JOIN FORCES
Maurice Blackburn and Melbourne firm Gill Kane & Brophy have merged, effective from Tuesday 1 March 2005.
Managing partner of Maurice Blackburn, Michael Brett Young, said the two firms were a natural fit in the provision of legal services.
"We both have a strong history of providing legal services to working people and their families. We are also both proud of providing affordable and professional service to unions, injured people, consumers and small businesses," he said.
Gill Kane & Brophy provides conveyancing, personal injury, commercial, wills, probate and estate, superannuation and horse law services.
"The merger will further strengthen our conveyancing and wills areas as well as adding to our pre-eminent WorkCover department," Mr Brett Young said.
Those joining Maurice Blackburn include partner Lillian Cooney, who practises in property, trusts, commercial and industrial law. Lillian is also the Honorary Solicitor to the Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria inc. Also joining the firm are partner Bernard Brophy, who practises personal injury law; senior associate Lili Chang, who practises property law and legal executive Margaret Clarke, who practises in conveyancing, wills and probate and estates.
